KPIs, Dashboards and Management Control

Any resource's performance, the degree of progress of a project, the level of achievement of an objective,... everything is measured by indicators on which we can act through more or less isolated decisions. These small areas of action, which give rise to these indicators, configure a map of interrelated elements that allows us to manage the Company (or the business unit, or the organizational area) and which we know as a scorecard.

On the other hand, no matter how well we have designed our strategy and defined our plans, its execution never adjusts exactly to what was initially planned and deviations can imply problems and opportunities that we should detect as soon as possible to correct them and/or take advantage of. Management control is the permanent measurement of the indicators and their comparison with what was planned in order to react ASAP.
